For sale is a 1974-S Eisenhower GSA Proof Silver Dollar in the original government packaging. The Eisenhower Dollar, also known as "Ike Dollars," were minted between 1971 & 1978 and was the first US silver dollar minted since 1935! The GSA Dollars was a program where the General Services Administration from the government instructed the US Mint to place the coins in special promotional packaging to sell the coins as collector's items. These coins are still in the original GSA Mint packaging, which is the brown presentation boxes with a simulated wood grain finish--which is a total 70's decor. This Ike Dollar was known as the "Brown Ikes" (the MS version was called the "Blue Ikes"). As you can see from the pics the coin is in great shape. It has the same gorgeous mint luster as if it were fresh from the Mint and it has that mirror image and frosty reliefs you would expect from collector's proof coins. It does have some slight ghost toning which is very common with Ike proof dollars, especially the 1974's. Even the original packaging is in great shape. This is a very nice silver collector coin that can be had at a very low price! Please feel free to email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
