Description

Beautiful antique pump organ (harmonium) made by Ph. Trayser & Co. of Stuttgart, Germany, a respected 19th-century organ builder. The organ features an elegant wood case with fine veneer work and porcelain stop knobs including Cor Anglais and Flute. The instrument has exhibition medallions for awards won in London 1862, New York 1853, Paris 1867, and Stettin 1863, confirming its heritage as a genuine 19th-century European piece. In need of repairs. • Maker: Ph. Trayser & Co., Stuttgart, Germany • Period: c. 1865–1880 • Features: Porcelain stop knobs, decorative casework, historic exhibition medals • Condition: Cabinet in good shape with attractive wood grain. The pump/bellows are not currently working and the instrument will need repair/restoration if intended for playing. Keys and stops are intact. This would make a wonderful project for an organ restorer, a collector of 19th-century instruments, or simply as a decorative antique cabinet piece. It belonged to a great-great aunt, and my grandfather brought it here from Belfast, Northern Ireland when he moved here. It worked well until about 10 years ago. You can see my grandfather used duct tape to patch the pumps. 💵 Price: $300 OBO (reasonable offers considered) Currently at mom’s place in Tustin or can bring it out to my residence in Desert Hot Springs.
