1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

55 AMG engine and transmission swap! With so many miles, it’s one of those cars where the more you drive it, the cooler it gets. Perfect driver C43 with a 5.4l AMG swap out of a naturally aspirated 55 AMG. The car was just serviced, has fresh oil, transmission fluid, coils and plugs. It runs perfectly. While the chassis of this C43 has 273,000 miles (miles will go up slightly as I will continue to enjoy this car until it sells), you would never know that based on its condition (a lot of these miles are highway miles, one of the first owners of this car commuted between WA and CA many, many times). I have seen plenty of cars with 200k less miles that are in far rougher shape. The body is straight, no significant issues, it’s certainly not museum quality but it is a great 10-10 car (looks great at 10ft away or 10mph). Could benefit from a quality cut/buff. The interior is incredibly clean, back seats appear to have hardly if ever been used. Not much wear on either of the front seats either. Just about everything works (windows, sunroof, heated seats, power seats, etc.) the only thing I can think of that doesn’t work is the interior trunk release which I have read is a simple fix. Also one of the fog lights needs a new bulb. No paperwork on the swap, but the motor should have around 90k miles. Car had 269k miles when swapped with an 85k mile engine and transmission. The transmission was rebuilt at the time of the swap. The car also has shorty headers, and is lowered on H&R springs. I have owned a bone stock W208 CLK55 AMG for nearly 10 years now, and this 55 swapped C43 is noticeably quicker with these mods. Definitely sounds better too. The only reason I am selling the car is because I am going over budget on my Corvette Z06 build. I really enjoy this car and the only reason it’s not my CLK55 being sold instead is purely sentimental. Clean title is in hand and ready to be signed over to the new owner.
