Description

Overlanding Hardtop for Jeep Wrangler TJ '97'-06 with Extras Turn your TJ into an overland rig! Selling the Bull Dawg Manufacturing Discovery hardtop currently installed on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Link to company's description here: https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYnVsbGRhd2dtZmcuY29tL3Nob3AvRGlzY292ZXJ5X0plZXBfSGFyZHRvcF9mb3JfV3JhbmdsZXJfVEpfOTdfMDYtMTMtMi5odG1s I built out my TJ for overlanding and search and rescue and purchased this hardtop new from Bulldawg in 2017. This hardtop with its swing up side windows made it much more pratical for hauling gear and getting it in and out. The hard top is still in great shape and comes with lots of extras described below. I started another overlanding/SAR build and the Jeep is no longer my go-to for overlanding trips or SAR missions. My wife misses taking the Jeep out with its original soft top for date nights, so I'm selling the hard top. The hard top comes with tinted, swing-open windows on the back and sides as well as a third brake light in the rear window, so you won't have to worry about passing inspection. It is equipped with a roof rack and removable Smittybuilt Defender roof rack basket. The roof rack basket is equipped with four forward-facing lights and two rear-facing lights. I wired up the lights with quick-detatch plugs to make it quick and easy to remove the hardtop without having to worry about cutting a wiring harness and splicing it again later. If you want to run the lights on your Jeep and have wired up accessories before, it should be a fairly easy to install. I should have an extra plug lying around that you can use to connect the harness to your vehicle. Also installed on the roof rack basket: 1. Mount for a 5lb propane tank + quick detach propane connections mounted to the rear of the basket 2. A mount for a jerry can - this is intended to be used for a 2.5 gallon fuel or water can. It could, in theory, carry a 5 gallon can but carrying that vertically on the roof would be a bad idea. 3. A flexible solar panel - I never finished getting this installed and do not know if it's currently working or not. 4. A DIY housing for a solar panell MPPT controller 5. A WeBoost antenna configured with a folding mast to maintain a lower profile when not in use (does not include the WeBoost device itself) 6. An 4.5' Ironman Offroad awning with awning annex. See photos for example of the annex fully set up with cot for sleeping. 7. The Ironman Offroad shower/privacy room in the example photos is NOT included, however I left the mounting brackets on there to make it easier for your to install your own accessories. 8. A PVC pipe for holding a walking stick. Easily removable if you don't want it. Other accessories: 1. A new in box headliner designed to be installed in the hardtop to reduce heat and road noise. 2. A new in box (bag) hardtop seal kit. The roof top shows normal wear and aging on the outside, but is in great shape. The only minor damage is two hairline cracks on the inside under each window. I suspect this was caused by Bulldawg's hardtop connectors/bolts; they were difficult to tighten well and I think the hardtop was able to move around a little bit. When I discovered the problem a few years ago, I swapped out the connectors/bolts for something OEM style. The cracks are not visible from the outside and they haven't gotten any worse since I first found them. Since first installing the hardtop, I have only removed and reinstalled it once. While there are videos of people installing and removing hard tops by themselves, this is heavier and sturdier than OEM and I wouldn't recommend that. It really needs two healthy people with reasonable upper body strength to install or remove, if you don't have a hoist. If you don't have a buddy to help you with the hardtop, I can help you remove the hardtop and transfer to your Jeep if needed - as long as you are physically capable of assisting.
