My 2 main speakers are not efficient (I.e. they take a lot of power to drive them), and I heard deep bass and great detail immediately with the volume at a 1/4 of the way up on the CD player and 1/3 of the way up on my phonograph. There are very few light scratches on the body but there are a few noticeable scratches on the faceplate when you get up close, but I bet you can’t see them from a few feet back (well, this bespectacled 46 year old can’t).
