Vintage Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Company (P&A) pressed glass oil or kerosene lamp made by Dorset Div. in Thomaston, CT after Dorset-Rex acquired P&A Thomaston plant during late 1950's. Heavy clear glass round pedestal base has mid oil chamber pressed w/12 paneled design & is elegantly ribbed down to a line pattern around its bottom edge. 5 " wide x 8.5” tall to top of built in brass threaded collar where original Eagle brand burner screws on. Burner has 4 prongs to hold shades, 3 fabric wicks included & functioning thumb wheel that has maker's mark. 2 different & unique fluted hurricane shades: 1 clear with etched torch/leaf pattern around entire mid shade (9" tall) & other frosted in white up to clear top (8.5" tall). Lamp total height is 18" w/etched shade, 17" w/frosted shade. Base weight: 2.5 lbs. Lamp in great condition despite vintage age. Base has one tiny chip and minor imperfections consistent with vintage glass products. Eagle burner shows age but is functional, & frosted shade shows minor wear around bottom edge.
