Description

Vintage Late 1930's Sturgis Posture Chair Machine Age Industrial Steampunk Enameled steel four-legged office drafting chair. Reginald C. Huntley of Sturgis, Michigan designed the original adjustable “posture” chair around 1929. The bent metal pipe frame and base retains the original baked on brown enamel finish. There is a lot of wear to the finish. The wood seat and backrest are covered in brown textured vinyl attached with large upholstery tacks. The vinyl shows wear around the seat edges. There are is a minor tear on the top of the seat. The Sturgis Posture Chair Co., Sturgis, Michigan, manufactured this late 1930 industrial chair. The chair is adjustable, seat and back. Lots of character.
