Description
Marvel 35 tube amplifier, which were made by Premier. This was probably used for lap steel guitars, but works fine for electric guitars. Based on the date codes on the transformers, which both end in 646, I'm estimating this amp is from around 1946 and made in the 46th week. It works. The circuit seems original and similar to a Fender Champ 5F1. It has a 12AT7 preamp, unmarked power tube, and a 6X4 tube rectifier. It has the original 2 prong power cord as well. It has a 6 inch alnico speaker, so cool! I all I did was blow out al the dust and clean the pot, which is smooth and has no noise when rolling up or down. I highly recommend a tube amp technician to go through it and get up to par and safer to play with a grounded 3 prong power cord, but I'll let the next owner decide on that. I just need to trim down my collection. These go for around $600 if in great condition. I priced it lower because of the damage to the back lower portion. See pics for chassis shots.
