The Line 6 Flextone FB4 is the minimum and most affordable requirement that one would need to be able to gig or jam comfortably with your Flextone II amp, accessing any one of 4 saved sound patches, and setting tap tempo for effects. Just enough for primary guitar needs - a clean patch, a crunch patch, a chorus/wet/delay patch for pads, and a distortion patch for searing leads. Add your own volume or wah pedal, maybe your favorite pedal or 2, (I recommend an SP Compressor and a Tube Screamer), and you are ready to rock the house. The FB4 affords you the ability to instantly select one of *4 patches on the fly, and provide tap tempo functionality for your time based effects - delays, tremolo, choruses, flangers, etc. Pretty handy. *Buttons A-D represent patches A-D, and a press and hold scenario selects "manual mode," which gives you the settings however your knobs are set in real time.
