1985 Toyota MR2

Hi, my name is AJ and I am a former Toyota Master Technician (1(contact info removed)). I purchased this MR2 3 years ago as a roller with boxes and boxes of spare parts. I have many hours getting it to its current state. While it could still use some repairs, It’s reliable and a fun driver. I have put about 10K miles on the car since fixing, odometer currently showing 265K. I have pictures to document extensive repairs including. Engine refresh, every hose, seal and gasket have been replaced. Crank polished. New bearings, new lightweight stage 2 flywheel and clutch, cylinder head and block resurfaced. New t-belt, water pump, plugs, wires, throttle position sensor, valves adjusted. Transmission was completely disassembled and rebuilt from two used transmissions, all synchro’s and bearings replace with new. New clutch master and slave cylinders. All strut cartridges replaced with KYB sealed gas, Eibach lowering springs in front, All brake rotors and pads replaced. AC converted to R134. Many hours in the junkyard finding all the little bits and pieces to keep it factory and complete. Passes emissions with stock exhaust. Not currently installed but included with sale. Currently has great sounding aftermarket exhaust. What it needs. Tires are worn and old, currently has vibration at highway speed. Did not bother replacing as I have no idea if new owner will keep stock wheels/tire size. I like my car original but you may not. Never connected heater core, currently bypassed. AC works but had no need for heat. Heater core was pretty rusty when I flushed it and didn’t want to introduce all that to my clean refreshed engine block. Electronics that are inop. Power mirrors, Passenger power window, cruise control, factory alarm. Somewhere in its life there was some B level bodywork done to the front. The hood does not fit perfectly and you can see where the radiator support is bent. I have some spare parts that will be included with accepted offer. Carfax I ran in 2020 shows no accidents and title is clean. Car has done nothing but increase in value since my purchase. I expect that this will continue for many years to come.
