Description

Breyer 2002 Bay Brown American Thoroughbred Seattle Slew Model 474 Mold 572 Great vintage condition consistent with its age. Pictures are part of the description, please check them & let me know if you require additional ones. Sculpted by: Kitty Cantrell Size: Traditional Mold name: Lonesome Gray Retired: 2006 Fascinating Fun Facts: - Seattle Slew (1974–2002) was a real, legendary racehorse. He is best known as the 1977 Triple Crown winner, and he was the only horse to win the Triple Crown while undefeated at that time. - He was purchased at auction as a yearling for just $17,500 — considered a bargain even then. - He won 14 of his 17 races, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes in 1977. - After retiring from racing, he became a highly successful sire, producing many champions. - His name came from his owners — “Seattle” for their home city, and “Slew” (an old word for swamp) from the owner’s childhood memories of playing in the marshes. Dimensions: 10 x 10 in Weight: 12 oz Many more Breyers horses are listed, as well as barns & accessories. Love more than one item from my store?
