Star Trek Limited edition cookie jars (Spock & Kirk) and (Alien vessels)

2 items available: Star Trek Spock and Kirk limited edition cookie jar (# 244 of 1000) Star Trek Alien Vessels limited edition cookie jar (# 23 of 1000). These Star Trek cookie jars are as a set of 5 different cookie jars, I only have 2 available. Either way these are heirloom collectibles and the lower the number of the cookie jar the more the value increases over time. If you google on ebay there are people selling anywhere from 400 to 1000 for just 1 cookie jar depending on their number. Out of 1000 sets that were planned with matching numbers, supposedly only 42 complete sets were issued because many of these museum-quality heirloom matching numbered jars cracked when being fired (some of these hand-painted jars had to be fired as many as five or six times-once each for the metallic paints used: REAL platinum, gold, silver and copper as well as for the other hand-painted colors applied). Using metallic colors requires a lot more work in the application since these metals fuse at different temperatures. Heating and cooling and reheating the jars to high temperatures every time they were fired caused many jars with very slight imperfections in the clay to crack. The sets with broken numbered pieces were never re-cast and hence, only 42 complete sets were made during the limited-edition firing period. These are a collectible heirloom that can be passed on through generations. Great gift to gift someone for xmas or great investment to make for yourself.
