Fiskars Reel Mower

I love this mower. If you have a small lawn it is the best mower. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. No oil. No gas. No noise. Cuts the grass beautifully. Clean cuts like with scissors. If you have a big lawn it is a workout. But what better workout than marching up and down the lawn. Do a few reps. Have an ice tea in the shade and finish tomorrow. Adjustable from 1 to 4”. If your lawn is eight inches tall in patches run over it at 4” first to get your bush manageable. Then come back in a day or two for a closer shave. Adjustable handle height so that you are driving from the hips and pushing with your stride or do an ape hanger set up. Damn ergonomics! Full speed ahead. Grass catcher works great. Fills fast ensuring lots of breaks, which means more opportunities for distraction. Once you get your lawn at a uniform height and you’re in maintenance mode. That’s when you really appreciate the smooth even cut you only get from a reel mower. It doesn’t tear the grass by smacking it at 600 mph. And the arduous mowing of the 8” grass is replaced with the speed walking trim.
