Description
I had this Sun when I lived in Chicago and haven't used it in about 1.5 years. It's in great shape and is clean. The below statements are from MTX website. I don't have a amp so if you want to hear them feel free to plug them in your amplifier. The 10-inch MTX Blue Thunder is a car audio subwoofer. This subwoofer has a sleek, high-tech design and appeal and can be installed within either a sealed, vented or single reflex band-pass enclosure. The distortion prevention and high-power handling capabilities provide the MTX Blue Thunder BL104 with a loud punch and crisp delivery. Specifications The MTX 10-inch Blue Thunder subwoofer is available in four ohm impedance. Power handling is between 75 and 250 watts RMS, while maximum power capability is 500 watts. Frequency response is between 37 Hz to 150 Hz and sensitivity is 86.6 dB. Voice coil inductance is 2.4 mH and reference efficiency is .17% No. The Total Q is .67 Qts while the linear excursion is 9.44 Xmax. The free air resonance is 37.6 Hz and the volume acoustic suspension is 23.7 liters. Dimensions Port diameter is 3 inches while port length is 10.75 inches. The 10-inch Blue Thunder has a mount depth of 5 inches and a overall depth of 5.5 inches while the cutout length is 9.25 inches. The mounting diameter is 9 inches and the overall diameter is 10.3 inches. Speaker displacement is 1.7 liters. Material The magnet is large and made with 33 oz strontium ferrite. For an efficient and durable design, the cone is made out of polypropylene. The voice coil is made with a 2-inch, four-layer deep coil to produce a woofer capable of handling high power rates. The 10-inch MTX Blue Thunder uses an EPDM rubber seal and gasket combination. This allows the woofer to maintain an airtight seal and quality appearance. The EPDM is also UV ray resistant, which prevents the material from breaking down. Enclosures The 10-inch MTX Blue Thunder can be used in a sealed, vented or bandpass enclosure. Recommended sealed box volume is .5 to 1 cubic-ft. A .75 cubic-ft sealed enclosure would work best. Vented box volume should be between 1 to 2 cubic-ft. A 1.5 cubic-ft vented enclosure volume is recommended. This would be an enclosure measuring 3 inches x 10.75 inches and has a 33 Hz frequency capability. For a single reflex bandpass volume, MTX recommends a .6 "S" value enclosure with a 1 cubic-ft dimension. This would be a sealed chamber dimension of .39 cubic-ft and a vented chamber dimension of .53 cubic-ft with 3 inch diameter and 5.74 inch long port. Features This woofer uses an asymmetrical linear drive to prevent distortion while producing high output. The MTX Blue Thunder 10-inch utilizes an extended pole piece to enhance a symmetrical magnet field for higher power levels and less distortion production. The tight fitting dust-cap gives a smooth and quality cosmetic appearance. This woofer uses an asymmetrical linear drive to prevent distortion while producing high output, and it utilizes a flat progressive spider to also prevent distortion.
