Description

A vintage hand carved camphor wood storage chest from the Majestic Company. It is made of Camphor Wood which is known for its aromatic properties which repels insects. Camphor is quite durable, as it is resistant to rot or decay. All hinges and metal detailing are made of solid brass. This chest exhibits beautiful carvings on all visible sides. The carvings are detailed depictions of everyday life in ancient China. This trunk measures 40" long by 22.5" high by 20.75" deep. This chest has multiple issues. There are areas of the carvings that are missing wood. There are also areas of the chest that have rubbed up against painted surfaces, resulting in paint transfer to the chest. Inside there is a crack in the wood, as pictured. One hinge has come apart, a screw remains, but needs fixing. I have pictures of all these flaws and defects, message me for more pictures.
