Description

Overview: Up for sale is this very beautiful woodblock print, "Rainy Scene of Arashiyama Park in Kyoto" by midcentury Japanese print artist, Eiichi Kotozuka. Kotozuka was born in Kyoto and was one of the major forces in the shin hanga movement. He, along with Tokuriki, Tobei and Tasaburo formed the Koryokusha publishing company in an effort to break free of the major publishing companies. This print was from his days working for the Uchida publishing company. You can see the "Uchida" watermark at lower right, and the print is affixed to the traditional backing (which includes a description of the print) utilized by Uchida. It's a very pretty print that would make an excellent addition once framed to any art collection. Print is unframed. Condition: The print's left margin is trimmed. Apart from that, it is in excellent condition. Measurements: Print measures approximately 16.75 inches high by 10.875 inches wide.
