Description
Here's a sweet guitar that's really hard to find. It's a 2000 Fender American Strat Texas Special (a.k.a. Roadhouse Strat) in BEAUTIFUL Shoreline Gold, and it's MINTY! This is the first I have seen in this color in person. Man, it's BEAUTIFUL. This guitar plays GREAT. Really GREAT. My workhorse is a 2007 Deluxe American Standard Strat, and I don't know why, but this guitar plays nicer. You'd think they would be the same, but nope. This Roadhouse set up better, feels more solid, has way more sustain and just smokes the American Standard. History of this model: In the summer of 1997, Fender USA introduced a new lineup of "hot-rodded" American Standard Stratocasters. This new trio of guitars included the Lone Star, Big Apple and Roadhouse. They had Deluxe upgrades on the Standard Strat model (Deluxe tremolo bridge, Straplok buttons, pearloid or tortoise pickguards, exclusive colors, rolled fretboard edges, etc) together with hot-rodded pickups. The Roadhouse had 3 overwound Texas Special pickups with cloth wiring in the traditional SSS form. In 2000, the Roadhouse was renamed the American Strat Texas Special and was discontinued in 2003. This model is pretty hard to find nowadays. It's really hard to find in this condition. And it's just about impossible to find in this color! Believe me, I've tried. Features: Strong, powerful Texas Special pickups, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, alder body, micro-tilt neck adjustment, bi-flex truss rod. And did I mention Shoreline Gold finish? Seriously beautiful and clean! The perfect Strat color and very elegant. Condition: This guitar is almost MINT. There is one tiny depression on the back, near the trem cover. It's TINY (about 1mm). No buckle rash, no dings, frets are just about perfect, no scratches. It's a great time-capsule guitar except the slight and sexy yellowing of the pickguard. NICE! It's a head-turner and gets a ton of compliments. The finish looks kind of silver in these pics, but it's Shoreline Gold....
