Description
Rare and classic 1960’s Gibson G-101 combo organ, as used by Ray Manzarek in The Doors. I’m not an expert on these organs, which these days run from 3.5-4k, but it is player’s grade and quite usable / mostly functional with a few quirks: - it’s missing the (rare) pedals, which are needed for the organ to produce any volume, so I just bypassed the rare volume pedal with a shielded wire where the pedal would plug in — and it sounds great. It’s pretty quiet, but sounds awesome through an amp turned up — I do not know if the signal is supposed to be this quiet, but it’s not a problem if you have a decently loud amp. - the lowest two black notes are currently the same; the low black D# seems to be missing a voice; the low black F# seems to be missing a voice. - as far as I can tell, the Medium Sustain (S) switch does not seem to produce the sustain effect — though the Long Sustain (SS) works fine and sounds amazing. The reverb and repeat switches do not appear to work either. - it is also missing the little keys / screws that attach the legs to the turquoise drop-down back support, though it’s easily attachable with a screw, nut and washer, as pictured. Aside from these details it’s a seriously awesome, and collectible, player’s grade Gibson G-101 that could be easily brought back to 100% spec. I’m asking 2200. Can meet in East Village or potentially drop off to a serious buyer.
