$5,500 OBO Excellent find for mushroom cultivators, large group canning jobs, emergency prepping or emergency sterilization during or after natural disasters, or for daily medical or veterinary sterilization, etc.. This is a refurbished “Big Bertha” model M-138 military field hospital sterilizer built by Environmental Tectonics Corporation. A workhorse designed to handle back-to-back loads all day every day. It is rare to find an autoclave that can be easily hooked up to many sources of electric power, or used off grid with propane, kerosene, gasoline or any type of separate burner!! Very easy to operate, maintain and/or replace parts! No digital brain! Currently wired for 240v single phase power with a NEMA 6-50P three prong plug. It consumes up to 45 amps in this configuration. Can operate on all these configurations: 220 VAC, 1phase, 50 or 60 cycle, 45 Amps 380 VAC, 3phase, 50 or 60 Cycle, 15 Amps 220 VAC, 3phase, 50 or 60 Cycle, 25 Amps 208 VAC, 3phase, 50 or 60 Cycle, 25 Amps 440 VAC, 3phase, 50 or 60 Cycle, 15 Amps 440 VAC, 1phase, 50 or 60 Cycle, 15 Amps Or operate on a separate burner placed below jacket to heat water in jacket!! Very versatile and very cost effective if ran on propane! (Burners not included) Chamber Capacity: 118 Liters It has a jacket and chamber. Which means you can build pressure in jacket, load and seal chamber, release desired pressure in chamber, sterilize, quick or slow vent chamber pressure while maintaining pressure in jacket, reload chamber, repeat! Very fast sterilization cycles all day! Used by military to sterilize medical utensils and textiles in the field at 250 and 270 degrees F, but you can maintain pressure and corresponding temp anywhere from 3-36 psi. “Designed for mobile surgical hospitals, remote locations and most other field-emergency conditions. First line of defense for hurricanes, floods, typhoons, earthquakes and other unexpected disasters.” I have taken apart the system and cleaned all scale and mineral deposits from jacket and flushed lines with tricalcium phosphate as recommended. Run with distilled water to decrease cleaning system, but it is made to run on pond water and kerosene in emergency military field hospitals! I have checked every component thoroughly going above and beyond the Inspection Sheet from the Maintenance Operations Division of the U.S. Army Medical Material Agency! I have fully tested all components and safety features such as double pressure relief valves and low water cut off switch. It is in great operating condition!
