Wahoo Kickr Snap Bike Trainer

The easiest way to describe the Wahoo Kickr Snap Trainer is that it is the Kickr’s easier cousin. It works with the rear wheel of your bike rather than necessitating removal. Otherwise, it’s almost entirely identical. That is to write it is an indoor trainer, thanks to a 10.5lbs flywheel and electromagnet, as well as an ability to read and send ANT+ and BTLE signals, it can deliver not only incredibly precise workouts, but bring the world to your workouts. That world includes training programs from companies like Strava and Sufferest, virtual reality-like training experiences from Zwift, Trainerroad, Kinomap, Rouvy, and more. To keep the Snap as simple as possible, Wahoo worked with a trainer company to provide a durable, stable trainer frame onto which they’ve secured their electromagnetic resistance device. You take your bike and install it into the frame, either via a quick release, or thru-axle (thru-axle adapter is sold separately). When your bike is installed, the unit plugged in and turned on, you then can link it to your bike’s head unit, your computer, your phone, your tablet. That linking to something beyond your head unit (which itself should be compatible if you want it to talk to the Snap) has to be paired with: iPhone 4S or newer, an iPad 3rd generation or newer, an iPad Mini, an iPad Touch 5th generation or newer), MacBook either BTLE or paired with ANT+ dongle A Windows PC that is either BTLE or paired with an ANT+ dongle, and most Android devices. If you want your head unit to communicate with the Snap, it has to have ANT+ FE-C capability. The Snap weighs 38lbs. It folds out to provide a footprint measuring 29 x 26 inches (74 x 66 cm). The maximum resistance it can create is 1500 watts. Accuracy is +/- 3%. The maximum incline is a 12% gradient. The trainer comes in the box with a front wheel block, a power cord, a power brick (transformer), a quick release skewer, and a quick start guide. The maximum recommended user weight is 250lbs. The compatible wheel sizes are 650c, 26”, 700c, 650b, 29”. The compatible rear hub types are 130 and 135mm quick releases, and 142x12mm thru-axles (with adapter). Total unit weight is 38lbs.
