Roland DS-90A Overview: • Type: Active (powered) studio monitor • Drivers: • 8-inch woofer (for bass and mid frequencies) • 1-inch soft dome tweeter (for high frequencies) • Power Output: Around 120 watts bi-amped (split between woofer and tweeter) • Inputs: Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA • Frequency Response: Approximately 35 Hz to 20 kHz Features: • Bi-amplified design: Separates power to the tweeter and woofer for cleaner sound. • Digital input capability (S/PDIF) – uncommon in many monitors. • Shielded enclosure: Safe to use near CRT monitors or other sensitive electronics. These were pretty popular for home studios and project studios in the late ’90s and early 2000s. They were known for having a relatively flat response, making them useful for mixing and monitoring purposes.
