My experience with this dealership was a great one. The car salesman DJ made me feel right at home. He was upfront and honest, which is well appreciated. And the finance manager Katie Stafford made the financing process effortless.  She was very informative, but quick nonetheless. Had a great remote buying experience with Southern Dodge.  Ricky in Sales, Lauren in Finance and Shelby in management provided excellent support throughout the process.  Car arrived in NJ in perfect condition.

This was not the best experience. Simple oil change turned into a big hassle. I asked for oil change and tire rotation. Got it back 4 hours later and still no tire rotation. I was told it was overlooked. Then I got home and it died. Oil everywhere, frame, front axle, etc. Had to call a tow truck. 1:30 later, back to dealership. I was told it would be fixed and be put in a rental. The rental was another 2 hour process. Offered an alignment for me troubles. I declined. Can't get an oil change right, I don't want any other services. I was called the next day to pick it up. Get there and drove away fine. Get to Virginia Beach, it died again. My family had to take Uber home while I got towed.
This time, talk was about taking the intake manifold off to get to the oil sensor, etc. Finally, my tow truck driver spoke up and told them he had the same problem before and they had put regular oil instead of diesel oil. The tech behind the counter said. 5w40 is all the same, there's no difference. So, now we all know the problem. Took over the holiday weekend to get my Jeep back. I will never be back.
Everyone at the dealership is super friendly,  but I got the distinct feeling their cigarettes were way more important than my time.
Since I can't even trust them to put the right oil in my vehicle, and not lie about tire rotation, there is absolutely nothing else I trust them with. And for compensation for my time was an alignment, whatever....nope.

Absurdly terrible. Went in for a recall software update. Left 2 unanswered messages prior inquiring about additional services and expected length of appointment. Completed an online check-in the day prior, detailing the specifics about the service. Showed up before my appointment time and had to reiterate everything I had done the night before to the representative checking me in. Upon inquiring about the time for the appointment he said 2 hours... for a software update... and a mandatory 27 point inspection. He came back, gave me a receipt and took me to the service desk, where I signed for the work. There was no explanation of the work done, no details from the inspection, nothing. I popped the hood later that week only to find the brake fluid reservoir cap sitting on my battery and my power steering fluid reservoir cap missing. I then had to take it back to the dealership the next day. The service manager only believed me after he pulled up the video of the service session. They took it back in, did another diagnostic inspection, replaced the cap, and finally gave the findings of the inspection. No offers for reduced fee services on the findings, no benefits to me other than the loss of additional gas expense and time wasted. I fear any additional recalls should I have to take my vehicle here again.

I have bought two vehicles from Southern Dodge and I have had great experiences with the sales and finance staff.  For each purchase those teams worked with me to find exactly what I wanted and got it to me for a very reasonable price.  The only thing that prevents me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that the maintenance shop is an absolute pain to deal with, they change their process from time to time, they have no clear signage telling you where to go when you are on site, and they won't deal with you unless they are your specific appointed customer care representative.  Fixing the maintenance department, specifically the customer engagement part of that department, would greatly increase the overall customer experience.
