Good condition 1949 Gibson J-45 in sunburst. No breaks. Original pickguard. This example has obviously had a long life, but plays wonderfully and sounds incredible. It is currently tuned a whole step down, which I feel is where some of these old J-45’s love to sit. Bridge pins and bridge are replaced, as well as the newer tuners (originals included in the case). The top has some obvious play wear, as well as some deeper scratches as pictured. Center seam split is stable. A handful of repaired cracks on the back and top as pictured, with a gnarlier glued repair on the back as pictured. The bass side of the guitar also has a glued crack. Professional refret. Slight bridge lift as pictured. Outside of the obvious repair work, this is a true workhorse J-45 that, with a good setup to account for the higher action past the 8th fret, would be ready for another life in the studio or live. Really great boomy low end, while keeping a very pleasing note definition up the entire fretboard. Newer tuners work well. Comes with non original hard shell case as pictured.
