BDI Ventura 7022 Audio + Video Rack

A serious audio rack for serious audio systems, this tower provides 6 levels of storage. If you're tired of the usual all metal or all wood AV racks, then picture this classy piece from BDI sitting in your listening room. It is a six shelf unit with a larger top shelf, suitable for a turntable or a 27" TV monitor. This top shelf is about 33" wide and 22.5" deep. Because the two rear corners are tapered towards the middle center, a safe usable space would be about 20" wide and 17" deep. That should pretty much cover most hifi components and turntables unless you have a more complex unit with an external power supply, etc. The second shelf is more suited for a CD player, with dimensions of 17.5" wide (the size of the opening between the two side frames), 16" deep and 5.5" tall. If you have another source unit or a preamp, they should go into the third and fourth shelves where the dimensions are similar to the first shelf, but they have a taller opening of 8". The bottom two shelves are for amps where the height is 9" each. The top shelf load tolerance is 95 lbs. and the remaining shelves are 75 lbs. each. Of course, these are merely suggestions; you can put whatever you want on any of these shelves. The rear spine of the rack has an opening on each shelf level for cable management, which keeps them organized and hidden from view. As you can see, it looks pretty nice when it's all set up*. Cosmetically, the rack is in "like new" condition, although I did notice a scratch on the top piece of glass, but it will most likely be hidden by whatever you decide to put there. The rest of the rack looks perfect. I don't have the original box, so local pickup is required. I do have the original assembly instructions if you need to take it apart for transport. This rack originally sold for $725. An identical rack, with minor scuffs and scratches, recently sold on eBay for $295. My price: $185.
