The thinner perimeter enlarges the sweet spot and increases ball velocity. The result is longer and straighter golf shots. The shape of the clubhead is also refined to allow crisp and solid impact without digging into the turf. The smooth lines and high polish sole compliment any bag but look particularly stunning with the GXz Titanium driver and GXz forged hybrids. Irons: The GX944 achieves strong marks for distance, accuracy and feel. The long irons are easy to hit high and straight. The head plows its way through rough and the rounded sole resists digging. Scoring irons are balanced for precision shot making but forgiving enough not to overly penalize shots hit off center. Off-center hits fly almost as far as good ones and shots into greens check and hold like forged blades. On impact the head delivers a compressed feel on flush hits, while providing stability and little aftershock on poor hits.
