Vintage Framed 151 Pokemon (uv Protected Glass)

For sale is a vintage 1999 original 151+ Togepi Pokemon “master set”. The cards come mounted on two custom crafted, UV protected floating double panel acrylic art displays measuring 28” X 40”. Each display holds 81 cards. Each card was hand selected over countless hours and trips to numerous card shops and card shows. I made these sets because I found joy in the process. Price $3500 firm no obo The set includes 19 shadowless cards 27 first editions 35 Holographics The vintage original cards are known as “base set” these cards came out in January of 1999 and consisted of 102 cards. 69 of which were actual pokemon and 33 trainer/ energy cards. The next set released was “jungle set” which came out in June 1999 this set had 64 cards total. 63 cards were Pokemon and one trainer card. Finally there was “fossil set” released in October 1999 consisting of 62 cards 57 of which were Pokemon and 5 trainer cards. There are no repeat pokemon in the original “base set” from January 1999. There are however a total of 39 duplicate/ alternate art pokemon in fossil and jungle. The sets can be differentiated by the stamp on the lower right side of the Pokemon portrait. Fossil has what looks like a bird fossil imprint and jungle has a mushroom logo. Combining these 3 sets is the only way to collect all 150 pokemon from the original English sets released in 1999 . Mew and togepi are known as promo cards, these were given at Pokemon league events. This version of Mew was released in 2000 and togepi in 2001. First edition cards are from the first print run ever in the US and are indicated by a #1 and the word edition on the bottom left side of the Pokemon portrait. The term shadowless refers to a lack of shadow around the border of Pokemon from “base set” these cards are significantly more expensive since the lack of shadow indicates they were from one of the first print runs but not quite “first edition”. This is a “vintage 151” master set meaning every Pokemon from #1-151 is included in its original art form. If you were to collect all 228 cards from 1999 you would have 3 “master sets”, that would be a complete “base set” a complete “jungle set” and a complete “fossil set”. That would include all trainers and duplicate/alternate art. No cards are creased and most are in new to mint condition. I have 4k video of the front and backs of every card prior to being mounted. Most sellers throw in cards from newer less valuable sets such as “base set 2” or “legendary”, “collectors” or “celebrations” those sets feature the same art work abut printed more recently with different markings and or card spacing.
