Authentic antique Nippon hand-painted porcelain chocolate cup with matching saucer and ladle, dating to the late 19th–early 20th century (c. 1891–1921). Features ornate gold gilt decoration and elegant detailing typical of Nippon-era Japanese porcelain made for export. Chocolate cups were designed specifically for serving thick drinking chocolate and are highly collectible today. Mark: Hand Painted Nippon, indicating manufacture prior to 1921.”(see photos) Condition: Age-appropriate wear to gold gilt; no cracks or repairs noted. A beautiful display piece for collectors of Nippon, antique porcelain, or Victorian-era tableware.
