The S12.5 is a high-bandwidth Class AB stereo amplifier that runs in Class A to 20W, sliding to Class AB operation at higher power levels utilizing Coda's proprietary bias control topology. With 104 dB efficient horns, the amp never leaves Class A in my system. Additionally, external control allows the S12.5 to be bridged into a high-power Class AB mono-blocks. For those of you who don’t know CODA, it was founded by Eric Lauchli, B.D. and Dale and Lorin Peterson, key members of the R&D and Technical Support staff at Threshold working alongside Nelson Pass developing some of the most historically relevant and iconic amplifiers of all time. The 12.5 is an always musical and yet compellingly transparent amplifier that offers an open, airy top-end, tight controlled bass, and beautiful mid-rage body.
