This is not real gold. Do not buy gold from an unreliable source. Always test it. 5 tips to test gold; bite it, it should be soft, specially 14+k. Magnet of course, if it's magnetic it's definitely not gold. Acid test it, If posible get your own testing kit, or take it to a pawn shop before buying. Markings should say the percentages if it's made in Italy rather than the karat (14k should read 585, 583 or 575) . Last one but this will most likely damage the product; use a lighter, burn a small section for about a minute, plating should start coming off (be cautious, hot!!!!) Real gold will not change color, in fact it'll look cleaner. This is a white gold 14k plated chain. It does not pass these tests even though it's marked and heavy. However if you don't mind about all that you can still enjoy a cool piece of jewelry, just make sure you don't break your bank over a relatively cheap piece. $60
