My lastest project was to restore this very cute, family owned 1950’s doll bed which belonged to my mom. She & her twin sister each had one that an Aunt purchased them for a holiday gift. We’re searching for a photo of them being used currently but Ive posted a photo of my mom with her doll in a carriage which is also listed if youre interest….or you may simply inquire here. The cheerful & very 50s shade of pink had dulled over time & had some chips that werent especially rustic looking so I refinished it going 1 degree of pink brighter. The little blue sleepy character with the little candle on the head & foot of the bed were kept as is as well as a faint halo of the original color around him…… The bed is made of wood & the slatted board that fits in is original to the bed as is the coppery paper covering. Layered on top is another fitted board which I fully sewed with happy elephant fabric which I also made the little pillow out of. The pink bedspread was sewed new, but the little floral blanket is original to the bed & has the nicest flannel feel to be used for extra coziness or a different bedspread. I greatly enjoy preserving the past or at least honoring it in the best way to be used in the future. This bed got many many hours of enjoyment in its life & when I was a kid I too got to put my bear in this bed when I visited my grandparents.. It’d perfect for a small pet who deserves the finer things in this world or, your favorite teddy bear. Measures: Bedframe measures 15 ¾ x 25 ¾” From floor to top of feet 3 ¾” Headboard & footboard height 8” This bed is clean, lovingly cared for and in excellent vintage shape. Its coming from a smoke & pet free home. I'll gladly meet you in a safe, easy to find location in Nashua. I infrequently travel to Salem NH & would be willing to meet in that direction - I do prefer Nashua. Ready when you are....
