Rare and beautiful mid century modern Van Hoople Painting

50w x 42 h Currently accepting best reasonable offer on this Amazing original oil painting by California artist, Van Hoople, born Chicago,Il. 1934. He apprenticed for Cecil B. DeMill’s scenic art director, Mr. P.T. Blackburn, at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA. Has been under exclusive contract with Hillside Galleries since 1957. His paintings are characterized by a deep, almost high relief, impasto, as if the paint were cut with a gouge. They are classic Mid Century, blending well with interiors decorated with furnishings and fixtures of the time. The painting is signed in the lower lefthand corner and is presented in a frame directly from the Hillside Galleries. Frame has mount to add lighting should you decide to add it.
