For sale is a nice roll of 40 Buffalo Nickels with the dates worn down on them. The Buffalo Nickel ran from 1913 to 1938 and one of the most collected coins in the world because of how beautiful and artistic they are. The major flaw of Buffalo Nickels were that their dates wore down very quickly after only slight circulation. Coins that could normally grade at F even saw their dates completely worn down. Some of the dates in this lot can be visible close examination, but not well enough to sell on their own, so I added them to this lot. Some of the reverses of these coins are very nice mid-grades, and lots of them have mint marks. Collectors love acquiring no-date Buffalo Nickels because with a product called Nic-a-Date you can acid date the coins where you place one drop of this solvent over the area of the date and the acid etches the date area to where the date becomes visible in 30 seconds! It is like a modern day treasure hunt! Since the early Buffalo dates with mint marks are the most valuable of the series, and it is the early dates are usually the ones with no dates, these are the ones that usually are big scores when you acid date them!
