This bass is named Athena and she's served me well for years now.  I picked her up after undergrad from St. Louis Strings. I've used this bass for some orchestral and pit orchestra work, but primarily for jazz combos, big bands, and bluegrass, as well as occasional “unplugged” sessions more focused on R&B, soul and hiphop.  I come from a background almost exclusively playing 5 and 6 string bass guitars, so I’ve really enjoyed not having to give up that range when moving over to upright.
