Description

I am selling a 2007 Mazda 3 with clean title in hand. Right now it has about 173,400 miles on it but it is also my daily so that will go up. I am going to list everything I know about this car, the good and the bad, so buckle up. The issues with the car are as follows. The front bumper on both sides needs to be fixed. As you can see in the pictures it is afixed with tape on one side and the other side you can see is sort of misaligned as well. This originated from someone who hit the car and took off right in front of the UN building in NYC. The same spot was hit again by someone pulling out of a parking spot a few years later. From this accident the hood shifted a slight bit but it doesn't affect the use of it. Also from this the headlight has a small crack as you can see. I never fixed it either time because it was just cosmetic damage. There is also a small dent on the hood. The AC I've noticed doesn't blow cold air as of recent. The windshield wiper fluid reservoir has a hole so it doesn't hold the fluid. The tire light is on. This a sensor thing. The original sensor broke in one of the wheels (I can't remember which one) and I replaced it with a non-electric one so the tire sensor will always be on until that is replaced with an electric one. The abs light is also on and that is also a sensor issue. The car recently passed inspection with both of these lights on and can pass with both of these lights on as they are sensor issues. My mechanic told me at last look that the axels are sort of worn. I'm disclosing this because I am disclosing everything I know and he told it to me while he was doing some other work that I'll mention in a few and could have wanted to upsell. My mechanic himself wanted to buy this car at that time but I wasn't ready to sell it then so you can take that info for what it's worth and judge for yourself when you inspect it how urgent a matter it is. I find the front lights are not as bright as modern cars. I'm sure you will probably want to upgrade to lightbulbs that are more modern and brighter. Now the good. I've owned the car since it had 67000 miles on it roughly. I bought it from the paragon Honda dealership in LIC. This car has never once broken down on me while driving. Ever. It actually has never even come close. I know I listed a lot of "issues" above, and no doubt this will be a cheap beater for whoever buys it, but those are all cosmetic and supplementary issues. As far as the power train and reliability of it, it is the most reliable car I've ever owned. My family actually has three cars, this mazda, a 2011 Acura mdx, and a 2013 Ford explorer. This Mazda has been the car to bail those two cars out. Never once the opposite. It drives extremely well. The interior is in pretty good condition. There's just a water stain in the center of the back seat as you can see in the picture but outside of that it is in very good condition, much better than youd find with any other car of this age. The power train, driving quality, and interior quality will surprise you in a good way given the impression you will first get when seeing some of the exterior issues and reading everything I disclosed above. It's also pretty good on gas in my opinion. General maintenance: brake pads changed about a year ago and oil changed every 3000-5000 miles, usually at valvoline with full synthetic but few times with local mechanic. Work done by mechanic since I've owned the car: lower control arms changed twice, fuel pump last year, top engine mount last year, struts a few months ago, starter last year. Who is this car good for? Without a doubt this is a beater for someone who either is just learning to drive or just wants a car to beat around so their good car doesn't take on wear. That's why I disclosed everything I can. I think also for someone who knows how to fix some of this stuff on their own it could be a good investment because like I mentioned the engine on this car is good enough to clear 200k easily. My mechanic was actually the one to tell me that. It's all the other stuff that admittedly came from lack of maintenance like sensor issues and body work that really are the issues with this car. But for a beater this may not be a huge concern for the buyer. I think when the prospective driver drives this car they will see this car feels of a much different quality than the outside of it looks and it's a much better car than it seems and that it's probably better than some other cars that you may be considering that may look better on the outside. It's a really good car for the purpose that it is going to serve for the buyer that eventually buys it which is a cheap beater that you can rely on to start all the time and that should give you another 20k-30k miles without major power train issues.
