Description
U.S. Wheat Pennies All organically collected. Dirty but nice condition Plus 5-8 WWII steel Wheats ☆Straight out of old metal coffee cans ( probably before your time-just Google storing old coins and money in steel coffee cans). He separated his good and bads. The nicer quality pennies got dumped in coffee cans and when he realized how easy these cans could be stacked, he started stacking! Now, it's time to thin down his massive copper penny hoard! No junk broken/ dragged, road rashed coins. All circulated, VG and nicer quality and thousand- hands dirty! ● Based on 2026 Coin Calue Guide ( Red Book), Each Wheat cent is valued at a minimum of 20 cents per lowest quality grade. None of his Wheats are lowest quality grades or damaged. All are legible and brown except a few die errors have discolored some areas on a very few pennies. Most are 40s and 50s which can be expected since these coins are bank-rolled organic circulated and the much older coins were too worn and environmentally damaged for my dads approval for coffee can storage. Plus he wasn't the only penny hoarder. If you want earlier Wheats, Ebay sellers would be glad to sell you some teens, twenties, and thirties for $10-$150 each depending on your choice of quality. Organic Wheats explained below: FYI- This process is NOT "flipping"couns. Time to collect a bag of decent Wheats: Took my father many good weeks (decades before present- day penny "craze") to collect this small number of decent old Wheats/ coppers. Time is money. Apparently this rule doesn't apply to some. For what it costs to order a pizza does not even come close to a price-tag for the time and fuel it takes to collect a few old Wheat cents. He spent weeks even months locating a small count of Wheats. His secret was visiting many different banks and branches to collect a hand-full of penny rolls and many times he would waste time and fuel for not a single roll because other penny "hoarders" had visited the same banks prior to his visit. Around the 1990s, banks realized they can make money from providing change rolls to businesses. So, bank members would not have access to these rolls unless they had a business account, extra funds for purchasing these rolls, or gifting a decent bottle of wine to the tellers who "looked out" for him and his dern penny rolls. Diring the 90s, hunting pennies bacame much harder for all penny "hunters/ hoarders". Since all the strick enforced bank policies regarding coin ( change) rolls, the drastic rise in penny "hunters" and the continuous cycle of sifting through circulated change made finding decent Wheats very tideous and time consuming work. Locating 1 or 2 decent Wheat cents in many penny rolls was a "win" in itself. Time is money. No offers please.
