Description

Long story short. Made by the American brand Jean-Paul, is a faithful reproduction of a 1964 Mark VI and is much more affordable. The saxophone is in pristine condition and has no flaws. It looks like a vintage instrument, but it feels even better in your hands and sounds like a vintage Mark VI-VII or Buffet Super Dynaction, as you'd expect from French horns.Jean-Paul custom lacquer design Tenor sax. Like New! Jean-Paul is most likely located in a Chinese factory that produces high-quality instruments to their specifications. Despite being an American brand, they found having the saxophones assembled in China more cost-effective. However, they oversee the entire production process. I have this information because the main instrument repair old guy technician at Jean-Paul, who has been repairing their instruments for many years, is a friend of mine. He was a great classical woodwind player who lived out of music for decades and played all of them professionally ( less oboe and bassoon) while, at the same time, repairing them. This guy knows a big deal about instruments. His only advice was to get a professional J.Paul horn, not an intermediate or beginner one, but a Pro one and you will feel a Mark VI in your hands. Knowing who he was and still does. I do trust his word. Then, I found 3 fantastic players using this brand. Please be aware of the light reflection when photos are taken. it's a bit darker than the pics. This is a Vintage professional model. It is not a TS 400 lacquered student or intermediate model. The only ones made as MARK VIs were these Pro saxes. They are not made anymore. I'm selling it with an Otto Link 6* not ligature but in perfect condition. There are no bite marks on it, or if you prefer rubber Selmer C* this one with ligature and cap, I can give it away too. This vintage-looking ( like mine IS A CUSTOM ) is hard to find 100% new as they are not built anymore, they were Sold out, but this one is practically new! Even though I had heard all the good things about these horns, I contacted Jean Paul to be sure. Below is a resumed answer ( copied and pasted for you ) after I sent him photos of my sax with the serial number. Copy and paste My question is about the un-lacquered tenor sax I bought.
It doesn't have anything on the body - just this N0. ( xxxxxx) Is it true this design was built to copy a Mark VI, such as key positions, bell size, and other features in general?  Thanks ----- Tim Zenderman (Jean-Paul) <> wrote:

ï» For a very long time, Jean-Paul did not print the model number on the horn, but that changed in 2021. Now we have TS 400 as beginner intermediate and those starting on TS 800 as professional models. Yours is more on the vintage look.  We don't make it anymore, and, yes, that horn you have was loosely based on Mark VI.
Thank you

Jean-Paul ---------------- The professional JPs are made like those vintage Mark VIs. Be aware that they are not sold cheaply. They go up to $3000 and more. Among many finishes, such as gold lacquer, etc., I loved the original vintage matte. It looks even closer to the vintage Mark VI from the '60s. Jean-Paul is an American brand.  Unless it's a vintage French horn, all saxophones nowadays, including the USA Selmer-Conn company, are ensembles in China or Taiwan. Now, don't underestimate some Chinese companies. I know a few that are doing an excellent job, and JP is one of them. This sax has been lightly used for three months. It is new, so that's the case. The case has a big pocket and can be used as a backpack. Everything you see in pictures came from the factory to give it its vintage style. This sax is not heavy, plays in pitch and smoothly from top to bottom, and feels comfortable. Feel free to ask any questions about the sax. You will receive exactly what you see on Photos.
