Description
Up for sale is a super high quality guitar that was made by employees at the Taylor Guitar factory in the 1990’s. There was a time that it was allowed for employees to buy guitar parts from the company, build the body or neck, and then move the parts through the factory to departments like finish and final assembly and have it completed for some type of trade, beer, cash etc. and then the completed guitars were sold to friends, (sometimes customers) and family. This practice was put to a stop quickly understandably, as Taylor’s building supplies were being used for free, and it simply wasn’t good for business. I worked there all through this time, and this guitar is from that era. There were some rules; one was not using the Taylor headstock design, another the pickguard shape. Regarding this guitar, it is basically a Taylor 612ce, with Fishman Natural 1 Matrix electronics. It’s in very nice shape with low, buzz free action and a 1 3/4 nut width. It’s a great fingerstyle guitar, and really projects. There really is not much wear, just a few dings/indents the top and back. It has a flamey Maple neck, an all solid wood body with tiger stripe Maple back and sides, Spruce top and Grover tuners. It sounds fantastic, and is super easy to play. There is no label or indication of anything Taylor on the guitar. It comes with a period correct Taylor case. All latches except the bottom latch are working. Priced to sell, price is firm.
