Description
• This set includes 8 Large Balls measuring approximately 14 inches in circumference and 1 small Pallino Ball measuring approximately 7 1⁄2 inches in circumference. • The main ball color is brown with 4 balls marbled with green and 4 balls marbled with red • Each ball is unique in color and all have a smooth surface. • Each of the larger balls weighs approximately 2.5 pounds • These Bocce Balls are in excellent vintage condition. They were always treasured and well taken care of. We kept them in the Bucket, also vintage, as you see them in the photos. They were never left out in the weather. After playing they were taken back inside. They come to you in their bucket. I have had them, mostly in storage, for the past 20 years. • Vintage Italian Wood Bocce Ball Sets are rare and hard to find. In my research, I found a few sets similar to this one and a few similar single marbled Italian Vintage Balls. I have an Etsy shop with vintage and antique items but I would rather sell this set locally. They are very heavy to ship. I am willing to deliver them within a 50-mile radius of Port Townsend for a small fee for fuel (no ferry). • This Vintage Italian Bocce Ball set was used by my mother’s large Italian family in Michigan at my grandparent's cottage. The property was in the family for 95 years and Bocce was always the greatly loved favorite. This set is more recent probably from the ‘50s to ‘60s. My grandchildren have all grown now and in my family, no one except myself relates to the game anymore. If you purchase these Beautiful Bocce Balls you are getting the essence and Italian tradition of Bocce along with them. • My Italian grandfather, who lived to be 100, adored the game. In the Spirit of Bocce, I included, in the bucket photo, my favorite Bocce Ball of all (not for sale). It sits on my desk so I see it every day. My mother dug this ball out of the dirt in what was our beloved“Bocce Field” many long years ago. It is probably over 100 years old. I think of my grandfather when I see it.
