45hp Mercury 400 outboard engine mark 55

Classic 1964 Mercury 400 4 cylinder mark 55. 2 stroke 45hp and the wieght is only 160 lbs! These old Merc motors Rock. I took it off a cool old boat that I restored. The person who owned this for years took care of it. The lower unit is good.Compression good! Prop and bottom skeg good. Shifts gears smoothly. I bought a merc 50 hp 1969 short shaft which the boat needed. This is a long shaft motor. I never tried to start it. I have a controller that was never hooked up. I took it to Alison marine in Des Moines and the compression was good on all cylinders (I have paperwork) and starter even worked. I haven't done anything else but with a carb clean new plugs and some wiring this thing may start right up. if your mechanically inclined this one would be worth working on
