This stunning Japanese Meiji Era Oni Call Bell features intricate metalwork and carving. Originating from Japan, this antique statue depicts an Oni, a mythical creature with, believed to ward off evil spirits at the bottom of the bell with bell on its back. The bell is decorated with detailed designs and craftsmanship characteristic of the Meiji Era. The finger ringer itself it a very intricately metal worked crane. Though missing a foot, this unique piece showcases exquisite artistry and cultural significance. And is from the mid 1800s.
