Xbox 360 Kinect

The Xbox Kinect, originally released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and later for the Xbox One, is a motion-sensing input device developed by Microsoft. Its primary function is to allow users to interact with their Xbox console and games without the need for a traditional handheld controller. At its core, the Kinect uses a combination of cameras, infrared sensors, and microphones to perceive the user's environment. It can track human bodies in 3D space, recognizing skeletal movements, gestures, and even facial expressions. This enables gameplay where players can control characters or navigate menus simply by moving their arms, legs, or entire bodies. For example, a boxing game might have you throw punches in your living room, or a dance game would track your full body movements. Beyond just body tracking, the Kinect also features voice recognition, allowing users to issue commands to their Xbox, such as "Xbox, pause" or "Xbox, launch Netflix." It can also perform facial recognition to automatically sign in users to their profiles.
