Our Persian neighbors are trying to get back to their family in Iran quickly because their family home has been destroyed in the war and bombing and their aging parents and relatives are in crisis. Ahmad and Esmat have only been in America for only 8 months and have been working hard to build a life here with their two daughters age 12 and 5. They both work long hours at their jobs, are learning English, and are the kindest, most wonderful neighbors. We are trying to help them sell the few household items they have been able to accumulate in the last few months. They have to abandon everything and just take a suitcase each. All items listed are nearly new, just purchased about 3 months ago. My brother and I are trying to get them as much cash as possible for their items to help with their travel expenses and the unexpected move back to Iran (though they hope to be able to come back to America in the future because they love the people here). They also have to pay an expensive penalty to their landlord for having to break the lease a few months early and will lose their huge deposit unfortunately. So every bit of money will help. Time is short – they are tentatively scheduled to leave on July 9th (if the airlines say the airspace over Iran is open). We’re trying to help by asking our friends and posting their items online to try and sell. The list indicates what they paid for the items and we’re hoping people will be willing to offer them close to what they paid for the items even though they are a few months old now, as a kindness or donation to their cause. The language barrier makes it a bit challenging to communicate easily and quickly (thank goodness for Google Translator) but you are welcome to visit their house if you’d like to look at anything you may be interested in buying.
