LEGISTER IS A SCAM ARTIST. The positive reviews for this business are absolutely fake, and if you check the most recent reviews, you’ll see that this guy has scammed a lot of other people on cars. I bought a Cadillac for over $8000 from Legister and within two weeks, I needed an entire new engine. The power steering pump also needed replacement, which he said he had fixed himself. I spent months and months fixing this car and still ended up scrapping it because I couldn’t get it fixed after over $3000 in repairs. Everything he told me about the car was a lie, and he didn’t even know that it was originally registered in Ohio (I had noticed some rust on the car and did my background research). When I reached out about these issues, he didn’t offer a refund, he didn’t even help. He just told me to try going around and looking for engines. This guy is lazy, doesn’t put the work in to actually fix the cars, and pretends to be nice just to sell you a piece of junk. I’m so surprised more people haven’t exposed this guy or his business before.

My husband purchased a car from Gabriel, it was clean. We had encountered an issue at time of purchase and Gabriel got the issue resolved before he took the money. He really stood buy his sale and didn't let us go away badly. Very good ethics.

Hi everyone I just want to share my positive experience with Island Motors dealership and mention Gabriel and Legister on this used car that I've purchased ,2010 Mercedes S550 the best car I've ever had. Runs so smooth and no issues. I will definitely buy again and not to mention that they don't even charge extra fees like other dealerships 😎

I’ve purchased a personal vehicle for myself ,2008 BMW X5 and I’ve brought a mechanic to check the car out and he couldn’t find anything wrong with it and I’ve been very happy with this vehicle ever since,and have recommended Island Motors to everyone I know who is shopping for a pre owned vehicle. Legister and Gabriel treated me incredibly well and I’m very satisfied with their service and professionalism. I have no doubt I will come to Gabriel in the future. My experience was 100% the best!!!! 👍👍👍

CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!  I'm not sure how this business has flown under the radar of Google Reviews and Yelp, as I'm certain we are not the only complaint nor will we be the last. I actually had to add the business names to both Yelp and Google in order to write this review.
The manager of this "business", Legister Mauncel, saw my 78-year old dad coming! This business sold my dad a 2004 Toyota Highlander that was not only unsafe, but required over $10,000 in work to make it safe. The entire bottom of the vehicle is rusted out to the point that the struts are ready to fall off, amongst many more issues. When my dad called to tell the manager about these findings less than a week after the purchase, the manager suggested he go see a welder to have it fixed or they were willing to refund him $200 out of the $6700 he paid and he could just keep the car!
It should be noted that prior to arriving at the business, my dad asked for the information to pull the CARFAX, however he was unable to pull the information for some reason unbeknownst to him. It later turned out the dealer failed to provide him with the entire VIN necessary to pull a CARFAX before driving 2 hours to see the car. When my dad arrived, he went into a small office in the back of A-1 Vacuum and Sewing where he met with the manager, Legister Mauncel and his salesman, Gabriel Cheptea to look at the Toyota Highlander (big red flag to most people).  The final price of the car was $6,700 dollars, but the salesman wrote the sales receipt up for $3000. He also had my dad have the $6,700 cashier's check made out directly to the salesman, Gabriel Cheptea! All of these things are red flags for most of us, but my dad is very trusting, a disabled veteran, his memory is starting to fail him, and he's in his senior years, which makes him that much more vulnerable. Now the process begins on trying to find a way to get his money back from this crooked team of salesman. DON'T become their next victim. If I could, I'd give these guys a -5 score. They deserve jail time and this business needs shut down immediately.
