Description
Arita Hizen Japan 1970s Imari Style 4 Handpainted Porcelain Rice Bowls, 5x1.5” Great vintage condition consistent with its age - no chips, cracks, defects or damages. Defects & imperfections - please check pictures made under the bright light & magnification: - light scuffs on the bottom rim - one bowl has a small glaze pop inside — just a tiny kiln-brn quirk, common in handmade or hand-glazed pieces, not a damage. Pictures are part of the description, please check them & let me know if you require additional ones. Fascinating Fun Facts: • Arita ware (有田焼) has been produced in the town of Arita, in the former Hizen Province of Japan for over 400 years and is known for its finely painted porcelain and pristine glazes. • This set of four features a modern interpretation of the classic blue-and-red “benibana” floral border with geometric details. • Originally for serving rice, these bowls can also be used for soup, noodles, candy, nuts, or as decorative pieces. Dimensions: 5 x 1.5 in Weight: 2 lb 2 oz Love more than one item from my store? Feel free to message me—I’m always happy to combine shipping or create a custom bundle just for you.
