Sure, the state pays for essentials. But the state doesn't consider hard candy to be an essential when so many there would beg to.differ, especially those needing something to replace the cigarettes and cigars, they smoked their whole adult life. It's sad, really, and if more people supported my efforts, I could get to other nursing homes. Not just a few . I believe there are about 50 I'm the CSRA and another 200 personal care homes who also have luxuries the patients can buy if they had the funds. We aren't big enough to give them all they want, but they are so grateful to get the blessings we bring. We even brought Keysville nursing home floral arrangements for the women. Lastly we have the Get UP and GO project which visits pain management clinics amd recovery and gives them information on staying regular 50% of all natural cause deaths could have been avoided if the deceased was regularly relieving their bodies of waste. Sadly, no one wants to admit they are constipated when we know thats one of the major side effects of using opiates and even just ibuprofen.
