This is a USA made all original 1979 Peavey T40. I actually have two of these, a 79’ and an 81’. They are workhorse basses. I’ve recorded dozens of songs with it, I mainly use it for studio recordings. It needs some love, a neck adjustment, strings, maybe a shine. It sounds great, plays pretty good. Needs to be set up, I bought it and never did a proper set up on it. It will be more playable when it’s had a once over, I just couldn’t resist buying this gorgeous 70’s instrument. Come with original matching case. Not recording much now, trying to liquidate some of my instruments because I’m running out of room. This thing has crazy dynamic range, and unique to this bass is the “patent applied for” on the headstock. I noticed my 81 doesn’t have that, so this must’ve been a really early version of this model. The T40 is a tone king, with everything from single coil/ humbuckers switches, dynamic tone control knobs and heavy electronics, this thing can replicate about any other 4 string bass made. It SLAPS! People liked the T40 more for a studio setting bass than an on stage guitar, due to the fact that it’s really heavy and the electronics add to the weight. To play this thing for more than an hour standing is a real feat! 😂 There are a few for sale online anywhere from 1000-1800 depending on year and color, but I can’t seem to find many white 79’s out there to price point it to. It’s all original, pretty good condition considering the age, only has a couple belt marks around the top and bottom where it would fall against you when you play. It is a really well kept bass, for the age. I’m not firm on my price, I could negotiate some. I want to give this thing a good home, I bought it will the intention of holding onto it for a long time. $850 firm
