Description

I'm selling my 2003 Ford Taurus SES with only close to 84,000 miles and a clean title. Unfortunately, the woman who sold me the car was dishonest with me about what kind of work needed to be done on the car, and I don't have the time, resources, or budget to work on it. Having owned the car for a bit, here's what I know: PROS: •Super low on miles for the year. •Great engine—it starts strong and runs well. No rough idling either. •Smooth ride overall! I drove it around the Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, and Lynnwood area, and it felt fantastic, aside from the transmission not shifting at times. (For which, see below.) •The car has just recently gotten an oil change under my ownership. ISSUES: •Prior to my buying the car, it had been sitting for 8 years. I was told just "a couple years," but obviously, the current tabs on the car suggest otherwise. So, based on this, the car will need a tune up and possibly a new battery soon. (At present, though, no issues with the battery!) •The transmission (automatic) doesn't shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. I'm not sure why, but it's very likely the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced. I was told that it simply needed more transmission fluid; however, of course, this didn't solve the issue. I imagine this is why the car was sold to begin with. •Tires will likely need to be replaced soon. •Side panel on the passenger side door needs to be reinstalled. I have the part for this on hand. •Turn signals don't work; however, I think this could be fixed by replacing the flasher relay as the bulbs themselves are fine. All things considered, I see SO much potential in this car. The biggest issue for me is the transmission and is why I can't keep it. I'm sad to see this go, but my hope is that it can be a reliable daily driver for someone who has more time, money, and knowledge than I do! Please let me know if you have any questions; I'll answer honestly based on what I do know about the car. Final note: Price is FIRM.
