About 2005, Applebee’s decided to go with a more family-friendly atmosphere and discarded much of its decor. The Greer, SC location had everything from the bar area thrown into the dumpster out behind the restaurant. These two pieces of stained glass were the least damaged, so I grabbed them, and took them to a nearby glass shop for repair. A few days later I took them home and built a cabinet for them with two 4-foot long fluorescent light bulbs installed in the cabinet to illuminate the glass. I estimate the glass to be well over 30 years old.
