Description

The instrument is well-made violin possibly German. The appearance of the violin indicates it was made circa 1900. The varnish is a light amber color on a golden ground. The two piece Spruce top is of a narrow grain at the center seam that broadens towards the outer edges. The two piece back possesses a medium with the flamed maple. All fittings and pegs are Ebony. The violin is in very good condition. There are no cracks. Several elements have been updated recently including a new violin bridge a new sound post new chin rest and new pegs. Body length 35.6 cm Upper bout is 16.8 cm Middle bout is 11.5 cm Lower bout is 20.8 cm
