Description
This is the NYL-2, a Japanese-made model from the period when the legendary New York luthier brand D’Angelico was produced under license by Vestax. It was manufactured by Terada Gakki, the same respected Japanese workshop that still produces full-hollow models for Sadowsky today. As a result, this is a very high-quality full acoustic archtop guitar. The body features a solid spruce top, with beautifully figured flame maple used for the sides and back. The neck is hard maple, while the fingerboard and bridge are made from ebony. The overall craftsmanship and decorative details give the guitar an elegant and distinguished appearance. It is equipped with the original mini-humbucker pickup, which offers a wide tonal range. The sound is clear yet warm, making it perfect for producing a beautiful jazz guitar tone. There is some light buckle wear on the back of the body, along with minor scratches and natural signs of age from normal use. However, there is no major damage, and the guitar remains in very good playing condition. The neck is straight, and more than 80% of the frets remain. There are no top distortions or cracks, and the guitar overall is in excellent condition. In my opinion, the Japanese-made D’Angelico models offer a level of quality that is not found in the current production models. If you are looking for a high-quality archtop guitar that you can enjoy for many years, this is definitely one worth considering. 🎸 Cash. Venmo. Zelle. Local pick up
